Kumarahou - (Pomaderris kumerahou) - traditional blood purifier & common remedy for bronchial and kidney complaints and congestion and is a particularly valuable and treasured Rongoa for children and the elderly.
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) - may support those with chronic and acute respiratory infection, sore throat and winter ills. Thyme stimulates and relaxes which then regulates as required
Skullcap (Scuttelaria lateriflora) - actions are cooling and relaxing. A powerful restorative nervine, skullcap's calming ability has an important role to play in this remedy where spasms, stress and tension may exacerbate the condition.
Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-gaecum) - Fenugreek seeds are traditionally used to reduce fever and to counteract phelm. One of the oldest known medicinal herbs, fenugreek was used by Hippocrates. Because fenugreek reduces mucus, this herb is recommended for sinus and respiratory conditions. Hypo-glycaemic & hypo-cholesterolaemic action.
Albizzia (Albizzia labbeck) - a traditional Ayurvedic remedy, albizzia has demonstrated specific properties as an ‘anti-allergic' and is recommended for atopic allergies ie; asthma, eczema and allergic rhinitis
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) - recommended for reducing inflammation; as an anti-microbial; antiseptic and sedative. German chamomile is specific for catarrh conditions. Note - chamomile should not be taken at the same time as iron supplements.
